Herpes Signs and Symptoms in order of appearance include tingling, itching, red skin, stinging, blister, yellow scab (usually on lips or cheeks, but can be found on tongue, gums, even eyelids). Oral Herpes is most often contracted by children. This sometimes spreads and causes other (secondary) infections. To reduce chances of infecting others, refrain from bodily contact from the first signs until new skin has replaced the whole scab.
Herpes Simplex (Oral Herpes sometimes called fever blister or cold sore.) is a painful infection caused by virus, transmitted by contact with body fluids (saliva, tears, sweat, etc.), especially when Herpes sores are present. Genital Herpes is transmitted sexually (not prevented by condoms or medicines). After the first infection, the virus remains dormant, but can re-infect depending on physical and emotional stress and other factors. The virus remains in your system for life. There is currently no cure or vaccine for Herpes. A viral relative (Herpes Zoster) is Shingles Disease.
Serious infections, particularly genital herpes can be eased with prescription medicines. Secondary infections may require antibiotics.
Note: At the first sign of a cold sore, I take 1,000 mg of L-Lysine each day for 3-4 days, which is usually enough to prevent the blister, scabbing, etc. Glen
To help fight Herpes Simplex, you can supplement your diet with natural Multi-Vitamins and Multi-Minerals, along with extra doses of the following:
Vitamin C and
Lipoic Acid; at least 200 mg divided into 2-3 doses per day.
Organic Germanium; 300-450mg divided into 3 doses a day.
Omega 3; 3 per day, 1 at beginning of each meal.
Lecithin; taken with the Omega 3.
Garlic; 3 cloves per day.
L-Lysine 1,000mg for adults, 200-800 mg for children, depending on size.
