I've often gotten requests for budget help from people who don't work, or work part time...even those who work full time, but for very little money. It amazes me how many of them have tried "everything" and just can't seem to make it. Here's an amazing more!
Those who don't work and are living off of some government program don't get my sympathy. Heck, they've already got my money. If you're in that position, get out of it as quickly as possible. I went to High School with kids who aspired to be welfare recipients as a career choice. These programs are for people who absolutely can't do anything else...not even pick tomatoes. If you're reading this, that isn't you. You have a computer, average skills, and Internet access. So, let's move on.
You could be working less than full time or full time and still not making ends meet. It's possible to make significant financial progress by increasing your hours. It's funny that the older I get, the more I want to work. I've worked 60-70 hours per week for the past 20 years. Most of those years, the pay has been less than minimum wage, but I'm doing what I love, so that makes up for it. It surprises me how many people expect to live like rich people but won't work any more than 40 hours per week. Do you realize, if you worked 56 hours per week at the same wage, you'd earn 30% more and still have 56 hours for sleep and 56 hours for relaxation?
Well, would 30% more income help solve your financial problems? Wasn't that easy?
